PYM sends a daily reminder at a time tuned to when you usually take photos. On Android, battery-saving features often block notifications silently. The steps below cover the most common causes, in order.
1. Check notification permission
On Android 13 and later, notification permission must be granted manually. Go to Settings → Apps → pym. → Notifications and make sure All pym. notifications is turned on.
Haven't been asked for permission yet? PYM requests access after you save your first photo. Open PYM, add a photo, and the prompt will appear.
2. Disable battery optimization
This is the most common cause on Android. Go to Settings → Apps → pym. → Battery and set it to Unrestricted. Without this, Android can pause or delay PYM in the background.
On Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other manufacturer phones, there is often a second battery layer. Search Settings for "battery optimization" or "background activity" and make sure pym. is excluded.
3. Turn off "Pause app activity if unused"
Go to Settings → Apps → pym. → Permissions and make sure Pause app activity if unused is off. When enabled, Android can suspend PYM's background processes after a few weeks without opening the app.
4. Check Do Not Disturb
Go to Settings → Sound → Do Not Disturb and confirm it's off, or that pym. is in the exceptions list.
5. Check your in-app reminder settings
Open PYM, tap your profile icon, then Settings → Notifications. Confirm your Daily Reminder is on and that the time window fits your day.
6. Still nothing?
Restart your phone, then open PYM once. If that doesn't help, delete and reinstall pym. — your photos are safe in the cloud, and reinstalling resets the notification registration without touching your memories.
